The first blogger (anchorman at Gcaptain.com) to announce the DWH accident posted at 22:34 (37 minutes after 21:57 CDT or 49 minutes after the blowout at 21:45 CDT).
How did he (on a vessel 10 miles away from the rig) know the blowout occurred at 21:45?

#1 - Wed Feb 15, 2012 3:28 AM ESTExcellent work. At the time I had been hanging out out at "The Oil Drum" and the forum there. I wish I had had NV when this was happening as well. Would have loved to have been following you and whoever linked me to you and whoever you link me too for all this wisdom as well.
I had not before read anything on the USCG transcripts until now.
That length of time was simply the bosses trying to cover their backsides and how to make sure the truth is hidden ASAP without regard to the POB.

Although they had wonderful scientific information, explanations of this function (I truely learned a lot) that function, details and such that Pro oil attitude showed as soon as I started reading through their site regarding things other than the spill.
